Mt Beerwah

Been having quite some free time on hand with Josh at work and the other gurls busy with their own stuff. So guess i spend some of this precious free time updatin my blog and keepin in touch with you guys.
Since Josh was able to get some free time off uni, we chose to scaled one of the Glass house mountains, Mt Beewah, yesterday. It's the tallest of all the Glass house mountains and the climb is rated moderate to challenging. I spent the first half of the trip trying to overcome my fear since most of the time going up, we have to climb up this very rocky steep slope and missing one step might mean slipping down the hill. Not exactly somethingthat i would do alone but i'm reali glad that i tried it tho. While climbin up, i never once dare look down....I reckon this climb would be a good idea for anyone who is trying to overcome a height phobia. If u want an adrenaline rush and a good workout, this is also the thing to try. I spend 3/4 of my time on my fours pulling myself up by grabbing unto cracks between the rocks and having Josh hoisting me up fromtime to time.
Side tracking a little.....(while climbing up the mt)....One thing i realised here is that being in a relationship doesnt mean that one become completely dependent on the other. But he/she is there to enhance your effort and via versa. As stated in God's word, two is better than one. For there is always each other to pull up when one falls.
Coming back to Mt Beerwah, the strenuous climb and the company magnified the beauty of the summit view. Here one is able to get a good idea of the aussie landscape. Up above,we can even see the coastline faintly. Its beauty is simply hard to be described in words. Even the pictures taken cant be replaced with the real life experience of being there yourself. We spent the rest of the afternoon up there having a lunch and a bible study. If i am to stay at the foot of this mountain,i would daily climb up this mount, pack my brekkie or lunch and spend some time up here reading or spending time with God. Besides being a little cool, this is a very nice and quiet place with great scernary to hang around.
Heading down with the sun setting at the same time took some attention away from the difficulty of descending down the steep slopes. Instead of doing the normal crawl (with our tummy facing the ground), we have to do an inverted crawl (with tummy facing the sky) down the slopes. It was so tricky if Josh had not gone in front and catch me, i would have end up tearing my berms and a badly bruised bum. Tho' it dint take so much of an effort to get down, i am more than happy to go upthan down.
Well, think without Josh being there to encourage and motivate me, i wouldn't have been able to do get up and down today. Amazing how the presence of a very good fren can help one to overcome many fears by just a few words of support and encouragement. Not that i''m trying to boast about Josh, but its here that i see how loving and patient he is in encouraging me, and from time to time nudge me out of my comfort zone to try things that seemed impossible at first.
