Pink, purple and ivory

The array of yummy cupcakes

With gentle music playing in the background and English tea to sip on, I began my first ever wedding cupcakes tasting with Becky N whose wedding will fall on the 2nd week of May. I sure have been busy coming up with designs, mixing up batters and whipping up buttercream since Monday. But it sure worth helping Becky find the perfect cupcake to have at her wedding.

Almond and vanilla cupcakes with vanilla cherry filling frosted with rose petal buttercream. It was so hard to find the pearl sugar and I resorted to making some myself. And it turned out to be really simple.

I had prepared 3 different sorts of cupcakes, all of which are dominently vanilla flavour, since she had requested for vanilla cupcakes. And they were Almond and vanilla, 3 vanilla and White choc and cranberry cupcakes. I gotta say my favorite would be the first with a sweet vanilla flavour complemented by a subtle almondy flavour. The almond meal added to this cupcake also gave it a nice moist and slightly denser flavour. And I do favour it very much with a melt-in-the-mouth rose petal buttercream which reminded me of turkish delight.

The 3 designs chosen
Going back to the tasting session, 3 vanilla cupcake became the obvious choice with Becky's English tastebuds who are more inclined to the more traditional flavours. 2 fruity fillings, vanilla cherry and lemon/lime curd were also very much favoured. With her wedding colours being purple, ivory and olive green, I'm really glad that she had found 3 designs which she really like.

Really like this little basket of flowers but not so sure how long its gonna take me to make at least 40 of them

With everything settled, I sure am eager to get started with these 100 cupcakes. In a strange way, I do look forward to the quiet nights that I will be up modelling these flowers. Maybe its the time alone doing what I love. I sure am more excited than Becky to see the end result of these cupcakes! Bring on May, please!

And till next time, I sure be blogging more about my joourney to completing these little babies. For my recipes, can i post it after this wedding? =P Sorry for delaying it for like yonky years.....take care for now....=D
