I have been hearing so much about facebook becoming the next big brother from more than one sources. It all does make lots of sense since looking at pictures on facebook had practically (almost) become an addiction to me. It came very slowly and subtly and then next thing I know, I'm checking facebook pictures every single time I log on to the internet.
Its true that how it links friends who are seas apart by puttin up photos that shows them a bit of their daily life. It had also helped me located long lost friends within a matter of seconds just by typing their names into the search box. Without facebook, I would not be able to see my dearest friend's new bundle of joy too. And my parents would not have been able to view pictures of their beloved granddaughter too.
However, I have been thinking if its really essential to have a facebook account at all. Being the wiser one, Josh had always scowl at the idea of having a facebook account and had kept to it by being the only one amongst all our friends who do not have one. Actually.......I did secretly set up an account for him long long ago just to laughs.....not so sure what happened to that account since I have not checked it for ages.
It seems more and more to me that facebook had got everyone addicted to posting pictures on it. Of course its nice to share to your friends the nice little outing you went with your family, or that huge 21st party where everyone had an awesome time, or just a romantic time with that special person. However, with practically everyone around you (and I mean EVERYONE) having a facebook account, nothing goes private these days. I have to say I have some pictures of me on facebook that absolutely irks me and all I want is just to delete every single megapixel of it. Yes, I know I can delete it, but I came to understand that once a picture gets uploaded to facebook, it automatically becomes the property of facebook and therefore even if its deleted by you, there's is still a blueprint somewhere in its system. And with that blueprint, they are entitled to use for whatever purposes.
Though it still seems like an innocent, effective and friendly way to stay in touch with friends, there's just something in its too-good-to-be-true-ness that I don't feel too comfortable about......Not so sure what but I'm sure time will let the answer be known....

I agree with the photos. That just shows what a busybody we all are to practically yearn to check out people's life via their photos on facebook.
